Environmental, Safety, and Governance

Working with the Planet

Megalodon purposefully extracts energy in a more responsible and ethical manner than our competition as we believe Earth is unique and sacred. We also appreciate the entire geological process, circumstances and time involved in concentrating solar energy into hydrocarbon reservoirs and take our role in developing these precious assets very seriously. We run our operations as safely and efficiently as possible to reduce our impact on our environment by reducing spills, conserving solution gas and minimizing our emissions and noise.

WORKING WITH FIRST NATIONS & MÉTIS

Megalodon is committed to working closely with First Nation and Métis communities. We strive to make a lasting improvement in their lives and dignity while minimizing our operational footprint and working in harmony with the environment. We work closely with Indigenous Communities to improve two-way communication through ongoing engagement and our Good Neighbour Program. We endeavor to train and employ Métis and First Nations Members and prioritize contracts with First Nation and Métis owned companies. We are also devoted to help supply clean and reliable energy to isolated communities that otherwise struggle with prohibitive heating costs, especially in the North.

Working with the Community

Experience teaches us that clear and effective communication with stakeholders often defuses most health, safety and environmental concerns. Megalodon has established a Good Neighbour Program to actively engage in effective two-way communication in each of our operational areas to continually advise residents on our exploration, development and production activities. Our approach also provides stakeholders with a direct line of communication for valuable ongoing feedback to further improve our operations, safety, environmental stewardship, security and community relations.
